Rainy Day?...No Problem

Don’t let the rain stop play! Here at King's Mill every pitch has its' own timber shelter so we have a sudden downpour you can raise your spirits and snuggle up over a cosy campfire. If you do have itchy feet and decide to explore, here are just some ideas of things to do on a soggy day…

Folly Farm

Folly Farm

Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo is a fantastic family day out in Pembrokeshire. This award winning park has a wide range of attractions to enjoy and many creatures to see!

There's so much to do that you may not be able to fit it all into one day... so, if you are planning on visiting more than once, it might be cheaper to get an annual family pass. Tickets and optional extras like fairground tokens or ‘ride-all-day’ wristbands can be purchased on the day, or you can buy them online. Visit Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo

Pembroke Castle

Pembroke Castle is over 900 years old and was the seat of power in West Wales for centuries.
Idyllically set on the banks of the river estuary, this mighty fortress is largely intact, and its endless passages, tunnels and stairways are great fun to explore, plus there are super exhibitions, which tell the tale of its medieval life. Once the seat of a succession of major barons who played leading roles in shaping Britain's history, this historic showpiece is the birthplace of Henry Tudor, father to the infamous Henry VIII and grandfather of Elizabeth I.
You can climb to the top of the 80ft Keep for magnificent views across Pembrokeshire, or descend into Wogan Cavern, a naturally formed cave that was once home to Britain's earliest humans.
You can easily spend a day here, bring a picnic, or make the most of the superb meals and refreshments on offer from the Castle Kitchen. Pembroke Castle is Dog Friendly!

Tenby

Tenby is lots of fun whatever the weather. Also worth a visit are these attractions. Check opening hours online before visiting! Click to find out more.

St Davids

St David’s (Britain’s smallest city) has a beautiful cathedral and lots of lovely independent shops and cafes.

Also close to St Davids is Dr Beynon’s Bug Farm. Tropical Bug Zoo, Bug Museum, British Bug House, Insect Farming Exhibition, Farm Trails and a Walled Garden, there is something for everyone, whatever your age or interest.

Manor Wildlife Park

Wales’s only walking safari, Manor Wildlife Park plays host to exotic and endangered animals from across the globe! The park’s innovative walkthrough exhibits allow visitors to come face to face with many of it’s animals. You can feed a wallaby, share a bench with a lemur, come face to face with red pandas and meet gibbons, giant rabbits, Cameroon sheep and pygmy goats.

The park’s strong conservation ethos, and focus on providing more space for it’s animals makes Manor Wildlife Park truly unique. They are currently involved with breeding programmes for Sumatran tigers and southern white rhinos, and both of these species can be seen at the park.

It’s not just the animals that make the park an unforgettable day out, with a giant bouncy castle, indoor play and café serving handmade pizzas, Manor Wildlife Park certainly has something for everyone
