We take great pleasure in introducing you to King's Mill Holiday Cottages. We would love to welcome you here to this beautiful part of Pembrokeshire to stay in these stunning cottages that first opened in Spring 2024.
Meadowsweet and Teasel are set in the grounds of King's Mill, a Grade II listed 18th century water mill located a stone's throw from the world famous Freshwater West Beach. A mill has been on the site since the 1500's. There have been monks and millers here over many generations but when the waterwheel stopped turning and the gears fell silent in 1910, sadly the building was left to degrade. Since 2016 we have been painstakingly renovating and restoring the buildings. The cottages were originally barns, used as shelter for livestock but we are extremely proud to have sympathetically renovated and transformed them into 2 beautiful holiday cottages that pay homage to the history they have borne witness to.
Please explore our pages to find out more about Teasel and Meadowsweet and the grounds that surround them. From our pages you can find out about the local area and read about our very special campsite that is nestled in the meadow and snuggled on the periphery of the woodland.
Our vision has always been to leave the 16 acres that envelope King's Mill as wild as possible. We have planted acres of new native deciduous woodland and sown millions of native wild flower seeds. We have an abundance of rare flora and fauna here and we want to protect our little part of the environment for future generations to come. While you are here explore our ancient woodland and search for the scheduled monument- the remains of an iron age hill fort can be found tucked away in the heart of the woods.
There are rope swings to find, paths to traverse, a babbling brook to follow and firewood to collect for when you unwind for an evening fire...a good time to make plans for more Pembrokeshire adventures.
We have a little shop that is open between the months of May to September, that stocks local produce and eco-friendly essentials. We take orders for freshly baked pastries and organic bread delivered to your door - so you can reset your clock to Pembrokeshire time and choose your own pace.
Don’t expect manicured lawns and tarmac roads. Expect open spaces, thistles and thorns, bees and bugs and a true sense of getting back to nature in your own little private piece of wild Pembrokeshire.
